2015 LR4 HSE - Came without roof rails/crossbars. I recently received a set of roof rails and am wondering if there is any reason I cannot pull the existing channel covers - which will have to be done - so I can cleanup the channels below the existing covers and have everything nice and clean, connector nuts re-tapped, etc, while I await the new bolt/washer kit comming from A.B. Parts house. My concern would be that the channel covers may be sealing/keeping water out. Esp if the attachment nuts are actually tapped all the way into the interior.

Part of the existing rail covers will have to be reused.
The bolt holes do go all the way through.
Unused bolt holes will have plastic plugs in them. These will have to be removed to allow the roof rails to be bolted on.

Thank you RR for that info. I purchased the short rails so yes, I will need to keep and reinstall the front portion of the channel filler. What I have are the Short Rails LR055273 And LR055254 for Land Rover LR3 And LR4. Missing the instructions tho, so hoping Atl Brit send some with the hardware. I was afraid the threaded attachment holes went all the way thru.
