sometimes my 94 RR does not start. I turn the key and all the dash lights go on as usual, all power works just fine but the starter doesn't crank and simply nothing happens....no noise...no nothing. I have had a new starter, relays, wiring harness at the battery replaced with a new fuse kit, other wires traced and replaced, the ingition assembly replaced (all professionally) and this problem persists.

Most of the time it starts fine with no hesitation. This problem occurs both after short trips to the market or after an extended period of driving. It does seem to start fine after it has been sitting overnight. Sometimes just sitting in the sun (Phoenix Summer) without having used it for a few hours, it won't turn over either. This has baffled several mechanic familiar with range Rovers. If anyone has any clue, please let me know. Thanks

? will it start if you turn off the key and try again? The reason I ask, is I have this problem on my '97 Disco, but it will normally start if I turn off the key and retry... it has something to do with a park sensor or something in the shifter.

You can also try to wiggle the shifter and see if this helps.

I agree with Joey. The park sensor switch in your centre console is probably slightly out of adjustment. TGhe next time you have this none start problem, just move your gear lever into reverse and back a few times and see if it starts.
