I recently got a small scratch from another car door rubbing against the plastic on the outside of the wheel well on the drivers side. The scratch isn't too deep but it still bugs me everytime I even look at my car. Any way to cover this up or buff it out?

Take it wheeling and get as much brush scratch as you can on it. That should
take your mind off the little scratch on your wheel well :)

A product which dresses black trim should help to hide it. You can't really repair it unless you replace the trim piece (which, by they way, is not too expensive).

I don't have a specific product recommendation, maybe try checking griotsgarage.com

I've scratched one of my fenders up really bad wheelin' and the dealer quoted $90 to replace it. Pretty fair I think.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't think it's cooler with some scratches...You just need a better story about how it got there :proud:

What is funny is that I can point to scratches from trees and the like loving up against my LR3. . .and it makes me smile. Prior to this, a scratch would send me through the roof. . .

What is wierd about those black molding over the wheels, is I swear over time a much adored scratch actually seemed to get less and less visible. On a cross country expedition camping for a month wiht my oldest son along the Lake Superior shoreline. . .I accidently swerved into an obstacle. It sounded horrible. I got out expecting crunched stuff. Much to my amazement. . .the LR3 shurgged it off with just the black plastic being scratched/abraided. I love that scratch. . .

Does anyone know where I can find a new cheap piece? I called two dealerships today and got quotes of $323 and $220. I had heard of people replacing them for much cheaper.
