Somone on another LR2 board posted last week that LR had just released a TSB about the seat base rocking on power seat-ed LR2, LR3 and RRS.

Does anyone have this ? Have a copy ? Thanks .

Yah, i've had this for a while too. Please send me a copy as well. Any idea on how much it would cost to fix out of warranty? Would it be covered by Ford ESP?

They actually just released a special service message deleting the earlier TSB! Apparently, LR determined there are no good seat rails / tracks out there to repair the rocking for good, so they want dealers to, well, put the seats out of whack, not enough for customers to notice but enough to stop the rocking. Until they are able to source seat rails that last, this is it. I posted details on this thread on rr.net (applies to LR2, 3, 4 and RRS...), scroll toward the bottom of the page to see the pdf with the fix.

If you are out of warranty it looks like something you could easily tackle in your garage, if you are handy with tools and have a pair of vise grips.

umbertob, thanks for the instructions! Looks really simple actually, I'll attack it this weekend and let y'all know how it goes.

umbertob, you rock! Thanks for the link. :)

Recently started noticing the "small but detectable seat rock" on my 2005.

Anyone have luck with this fix solving the moving / rocking seat issue?

I test drove a 2008 LR2 HSE last night (has 9k miles and offer on table is $30,000). I fell in love. As I pulled into the dealer lot the seat moved. "They all do that" I was told. Not much of an answer. After some online research today, yeah, it seems almost all of them do!

If this fix indeed fixes it, I'm going to print it out and request they do it. If anyone has had success with this fix, please post! A moving seat is a crazy deal breaker but why buy something with such a known issue (that folks have been experiencing for a year or so)? Doesn't say much for Land Rover's service and quality. But I really am thinking about buying it.

Thanks!

Juat an update. I performed the tsb last weekend and have only noticed one small rock movement since (happened right after, so I guess it was just settling?). Seat seems more solid, you can hear the seat motor have a harder time moving it back and forth. I would highly suggest doing the tsb yourself, very simple.
