I have a 1998 Land Rover Discovery with 84,600 miles. At 82,500 miles the "Service Engine Light" came on. I took it to a service shop and they performed a computer diagnosis that brought up no codes. They said there was not a problem with the vehicle. I talked to the local Land Rover dealer and they said the light automatically comes on at 82,500 miles to check the emissions. I just had the state inspection sticker repaced where they checked the emissions and it passed. Does anyone know how to turn off the light so I don't have to be charged $80+ for the dealer to turn it off?
