No the D5 is different than the LR4, more comfortable, more gadgets (maybe more things to break), but definitely just a as capable.
My D5 with locking rear diff, keeps up with anything. It does so in extreme comfort, and *knock on wood, reliability.

I have been running a 275/55R20 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT for many years and they are durable and capable. mud, snow, rock... they don't seem to care.
I have to run 20" tire because of my brake up grade to a RRS SVR setup. I have an early 2017 that came with the anemic LR4 left over front brakes. They are also also a true 6pot Brembo now.
My D5 2017 Discovery HSE Td6 has been the best SUV I've ever owned. Dealers did replace the windshield other than that it's been fantastic.

We have a 1" gentlemen's lift and a 1.5 inch lift for the D5. We also have 18" wheels with a offset of 27 that will fit the D5.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve owned my V8 LR4 for nearly 10 years and have loved it as a daily driver around town. But maintenance is getting high. I’ve kept track and just surpassed the $100k mark for total spent on the car (including the CPO purchase, independent mechanic for the past 4 years).

We test drove a Dynamic SE, 3.0. Engine and transmission are so smooth. Immediately noticed the shorter rear headroom and stiffer ride (22” vs 19” likely contributed). Lots of gadgets. We are leery of the reliability and would consider getting extended warranty based off my past! I would skip over the pre face lift Discovery if looking for a used one.

Hey bro quick question, whats a gentleman's lift lol? What tires are those and you think I can use those with the OEM 20" wheels? Is the offset a spacer or hub centric spacer? Thank you in advance..
