That sounds like a complicated way to park!
I have just had a call that the problem was as expected, a corroded cable under the shifter, and that it is fixed.

Good to hear. Actually once you get used to parking this way it gets to be second nature. Hell sometimes I accidentally park the wife's Camry like that out of habit!
