My transmission has been acting rather weird lately.
About two months ago, while coasting at slow speeds and then accelerating back, 1st gear would kick and obviously the truck would **** suddenly.
Then while going uphill, starting from standstill, the truck will start in 2nd or even 3rd gear, without downshifting, therefore going very slowly.
The F letter has been popping up at cold start, after I change from Reverse to Drive.
I have reset the learning mode of the transmission once, but didn't make much difference.
Yesterday I took the truck with a friend who has a computer and a pack of error codes appeared:

P0101, P0302, P0307, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0300, P0316, P0420, P0430, P0441, P0513, C1130, P0730, P0736, P0783, U0402, U0416, U0421, U0010, U0132, U0159, U0127, B1A00, B1A87

I'm considering a transmission fluid change, but looking at the variety and number of codes, I'm not sure if it's worthwhile.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

How many miles? A generic code reader isn't going to give enough info. You may have to bite the bullet and let the dealer plug it in. The transmission sleeves have been known to leak over time.

I didn't have the random shifting issue, but to Houm's point at 97k the gasket around my transmission sleeve started leaking. I had the gasket replaced and the tranny pan/filter assembly replaced, around $400 or so total. (Indie and cash not credit)

It has 59k miles on it, service is due soon. I was planning to take it to the dealer, so to Houm_Wa point, I guess it will be worthwhile. I thought that having the codes would help figure out some easy :) solution, as I have read in some posts, such as battery change, brake light switch, etc (I tried them but didn't help much). The funny thing is that after the codes were cleared, I immediately felt a much spirited drive on my truck. 1st gear engaged with no hesitation. The caveat came on the steep climb out of my office parking, it shifted from 2 or 3 to 4th gear!!!! Needless to say, it was slower than crawling in lo gear... something is quite wrong, definetely :(, any thoughts???
