Greetings Land Rover Family.
I have a 2006 LR3 with 35.000 miles on it. Truck is in excellent condition and is maintained regularly. I recently see that every now and again, usually after sitting overnight or for 8 hours or more, a small bit of burning oil smoke (the lingering white/gray smoke-not cold smoke) comes from the exhaust when I start the vehicle. It only lasts for a second or two and does not always happen. Any thoughts on what this is about?? should I worry or is in indiciative of the vehicle. ::hmpf:

To me, it sounds like a symptom of a leaking valve guides. Overnight, a couple drops or so of oil are dripping into the combustion chambers and being burnt up immediately at start up. Not a huge problem at all. Just for piece of mind, monitor the oil level.
