Hi All,
Had a recent experience that I thought you should all know about.
I was driving along and the steering quit working rather suddenly. (Inside wheel turns, outside wheels don't.) Luckily, I was coasting along at about 10mph at the time and hence I didn't crash into anything.
Here's what failed:
The drag link rod end (at the steering box end) fell apart. The ball pulled out of the socket, due to corrosion. This is the only rod end that is hung-mounted on the Disco I, so when it's loose...it's gonna fall apart.
I could have been looking for this, but I never did...that's why I'm telling you. If the rubber boot is torn, just spend the $30 and buy a new one.
