Thank you for that recommendation, I just checked them out. I didn't know these existed but I will definitely use these in the future for higher torque applications. Due to the cost (3-4X) and wait time for shipping I'll try the Helicoil this time, but I'll keep time sert in mind for the next one.

Pulled it apart today and expected to find the leakage coming from the left side of water pump (because of the top left bolt hole that I possibly stripped on install), but it appears to me that it's leaking from the seam of the water pump itself. I'm not positive though because I guess it's possible that the coolant could get distributed all over the pump due to wind and vibration? What do you guys think? Note on one of the pics looking behind the pulley you can see coolant on the bolt that goes through the water pump housing, but no trail to the bolt. I also should note, this water pump was purchased from Lucky8 and was installed 4-5 months ago and less than 4000 KM's ago (2500 miles)

Certainly looks like a leak from the pump itself to me. The gaskets on the intake/outlet look like they’re degrading, at least from the pic. If so, I’ll bet the same thing is happening to the gasket between the two halves of the pump. I’d send those picks to Lucky8 and ask for your money back.

I appreciate Lucky8 and am glad they exist for the Rover community, especially for the custom stuff they make for various Rovers.

That said, I would stay far, far away from any replacement-type parts they offer that are not OEM. I ordered my lower control arms from them and the ball joints went bad after about 10k miles and a little over a year, and Lucky8 basically just said "sorry, but nothing we can do" when I called them up to see about a refund.

I guess a year (or less) is probably the standard warranty for a car part, but who honestly expects a part like that to last just a year? Warranty or no, I'm not buying any of the non-OEM-branded replacement parts from them again after that mess.

Front lowers went on me as well. Assumed it was the ball joint but it’s the classic rear bush. Serves me right for cheating out on the cheapest lca’s I could find. 20 months and 15k miles :(

I agree, my mechanic says he will not install anything but OEM, if you bring your own parts you can also take them home.
