Sorry, I have never had a Kelty. It is better than my last Coleman tent, and certainly didnt disappoint. No leaks in the torrential downpour the one night we have used it. The 'sleeve' that goes around the back of the truck zips off for easy cleaning. The tent could be zipped up and used with out this option. Overall, its bigger than I was expecting. No problem fitting a queen aerobed inside.
