I know not technical, but no general section....

Any ways, driving down the road the other day around 60mph, my wife and I heard this load roaring start for no reason.... she looks at me and said what is that noise. The light bulb went off in my head :stupido2: and I said we just got a flat tire.

I pulled off of the road and proceeded to change the tire. Thank God I had my breaker bar with me, because those lugs where tight. Change the tire and then the next day went by the tire shop... He said the side wall blow out (I could see an issue the night it happened, it was dark).

He said this happens when the tire get low on air. I thought to myself about when the last time I had checked the air in my tires (yes I keep a tire gauge in the Disco) and realized that due to my traveling so much this summer that I hadn't checked them in a while (read long time).

Remember to check your tire pressure weekly, and that tires tend to loose up to 1 PSI every month more when it is cold out.

No I am considering a tire pressure monitor just so I never have to worry about this again.

Also I didn't even feel the tire go, no nothing from the rear. I am sure if it had been a front tire I would have felt more.
