Nah, I don't care how many doors and gates you leave open, those damn wheels just keep dropping down to the floor as you jack the car up! Opening the doors (not sure about the tail gate though, don't think leaving that one open makes a difference) would only prevent the suspensions from lowering / self leveling down on their own, a precaution you would take if you were working under the car after raising the suspensions for extra clearance... Still, a couple of strategically positioned jack stands make me feel a lot safer than an open door. :biggrin:

Door open does nothing to stop the self leveling. I have been changing the rods out numerous times when the car "farts" and lowers. That'll scare you when your arm is wedged in the wheel well or your head is under the suspension arms... I'll have to second the jack stands. It's the only way to be totally safe.
