Having issue with LR3 SE tranny. When driving up steep hill/road "Reduce Engine performance" shows and then engine turns off. Thinking of purchasing extended warranty...any suggestions?

...not sure that is the tranny. Why do you suggest that? I got a REP once and it was the MAF sensor. Other culprits are the thermostat and the throttle body. ...what do you mean "then the engine turns off?" It literally turns off right after the REP message regardless of situ? Or do you mean it stalls when you come to a stop. Please explain. Extended warranty is of good value if you are going to keep the car a while.

I say its the tranny or something to do with it...cause the 1st time it stalld was when I was returning from Vegas...I came to complete stop then just like that engine turns off....took it in to Dealer & thermos was replacd. Now it did it again going up...just makes the most sense that its the tranny or soem part related to it...

I don't agree that the tranny makes the most sense. What is the conclusion based on? Why would the tranny be the culprit for the engine stalling?

Check your battery connections. Maybe even loosen them up/ clean and re tighten. I'm fairly certain this is your problem. Had the battery been replace or worked on recently?
