You will also want to keep the drain pan underneath. Transmission fluid continues to drip from the mech unit once the pan is removed.

it seems like there is a never ending amount of fluid that will drip, even after the initial pan drop.

go in with the mindset that you will get drenched in fluid. there is no graceful way to contort the pan and remove it without dumping fluid on yourself, the ground, frame rail and exhaust.. have oil absorbent, shop towels, and degreaser (purple power or similar) ready.

I like to think of excess fluid dripping as **** control on my gravel driveway :laugh:.

For real though, I figured as much; it wont be the first trans pan I've dropped or the first trans fluid bath I've had. Those clothes go straight to the trash....
