With one of the stock halogen turn signal bulbs going out, decided to go the LED route for replacements. It did take a while to find PY24W bulbs that fit the 2014+ housing, but finally got a pair installed that work perfectly (should fit pre-2014 too).

Here's a short before / after comparison vid with stock on the left and LED on the right:

Pleased with the results of this quick mod - much brighter (the LEDs are rated at ~800 lumens and the stock ~300), no bulb-out errors, no flickering at startup, the amber matches the stock color, and the diffused LEDs project without hotspots inside the stock reflector assembly.

Access to the bulb on the facelift is through a cover on the side, and removal involves pushing in the tabs on the bulb at the top/bottom and pulling straight back (pic attached)...it's tight, so good luck if you've got sausage for fingers like me...;) This is different from the pre-facelift, where both the bulb and holder detach by twisting the rear of the assembly...much better design IMO.

I tried a few sets and the key thing is the bulb width at the tip can't be more than 18mm or it won't fit in the reflector housing; bulb length isn't a problem as there's ample depth.

This is the set I ended up sourcing off ebay. Originally found in the UK, but they don't ship across the pond.

cheers

I am curious how long the bulbs last.

I bought some fog light and cornering bulbs (4) for another vehicle. 2 lasted about 8 months. It appears that cold and humidity are the culprit.

Yes... I tried the bulbs (once) from other sources. They didn't last a year.
Went to the dealer, got them at a discount... and with no-charge labour of installing. That was 2 years ago.

Yup that will be the real test. I did also try the set from FuzedLED that have a 5 year warranty (the longest I've seen anywhere), but they didn't fit the housing. Will post updates in a few months either way.
