Anybody need / want a SCV8 engine and trans? First one of these I’ve seen in a long time; usually don’t see people offering these up, or find them in junkyards. About 25 min southeast of Nashville.

Want? Yes.

Need? Well you see ...

Have the time to give it the love and attention it deserves? Nope.

I feel you! I wish I had something to put it in; seems like a good price for having both. That’s why I posted it; the market in the general public is slim, but one of us crazies will justify buying it.

I'd love to have it in my LR4.
a SC V8 in an LR4? that would be fun. i drive my daughter's SC 4.2 V8 Range Rover and it is noticeably quicker than my 5.0 V8 LR4.

wonder if the drive train and brakes on the LR4 could handle the added hp.

Yeah, the SC 4.2 has almost 400 HP. I hear the transmission is the same in the FB ad but doesn't last as long behind the SC V8. The brakes to me are already lacking and I'm light on the brakes lol. But the SC V8 would be powerful for towing too. I have strong thoughts of pulling a Black Series HQ17 RV with it. 375 HP 375 FT-LBS is enough but the 500 HP is a sweet spot. My LS7 had 500 HP NA at 7K RPM.

IMO the sweat spot for powertrains in LR is between 14 and on when they came with the SC 5.0 paired with the zf8hp70. These transmissions were rated to 700 nm and the SCV8 only put out 625 nm. Because of this these transmissions were pretty reliable. The scv6 is paired to a zig8hp45 which are rated to 450 nm and the engine actually puts out 450 nm exactly. Thats why you see models fitted with the scv6 have transmission issues sooner than the SCV8.

If my pockets get deep I would love for that shop in Colorado to SCV8 and ZF8hp70 swap my LR4. Definitely would fit the 6 piston brembo brakes too
