It is one of those things you don't realize is that valuable until you have it!

BTW, we switched from Bronze to Corris Gray after seeing one and spending some time with it this morning. No black package for us, though. I may make some things black later. Just not now.

I think chosing the color was the hardest thing for us since we don't have easy access to a dealership where we currently live, so we had to rely on the website photos. We really liked the bronze too, but found some pictures of an RRS in the Corris and decided to take a chance on that color. Glad to hear it looks great in person

It is even tough in person! The intensity and temperature of the light can alter the look a bit. And the color patches in the marketing material are not very helpful. They tend to show some of the colors lighter than they are in real life. So if you are using those use the darker end of the "swatches" to get a more accurate read. I can best describe Corris as a medium gray. Dark enough to look sophisticated and to not show as much dirt but lighter then black so less of the challenges that come with the mirror-like finish of black.

It is snowing today in Denver so no "warm" evening sunlight to use. Everything is white, gray or dark. But the Corris looks like it will hold up well in a variety of settings. It is not the purplish tint of past years nor the greenish tint of the

I'll add my 0.02 after purchasing my LR4 today.

During the purchase process my buddy at the dealership showed me how to access the multiple camera angles. While this is a function I will probably never use it was useful to know how to use it. That being said the cameras do not really give you a quality image due to the subpar lcd screen. It also struggles to show the images and makes the entire screen fuzzy or shaky.

What has been interesting so far and is new to me is the blind spot monitoring. Doesn't take much to get use to. I have only driven the vehicle twice but it is fun to watch the flashing yellow lights in the mirrors. I could see how some people would like this.

In terms of the headlights I have yet to drive in the dark to see how they act in comparison to say a BMW. I can let you know in the morning after driving in the dark if they are better than the fixed head lights from the HSE I test drove.

On the Blind Spot Monitoring I like this system better than my Acura which has the blinking light on the post/frame. In some ways it is easier to see without actually looking at the mirror. But that's just it. I have found myself not looking at the mirror. I like that with the LR4 I need to at least glance at the mirror a bit.

On adaptive headlights, the HSE model I drove had them. They are OK. These things are never perfect. But I miss having them on my Acura. And it seems they are better than the ones I had on my 2010 RX350. Auto High Beams aren't perfect either. But they do work in a LOT of situations to the point that when I had them on my Lexus (pre-Acura) I came to rely on them. I have been far less consistent on my Acura doing it myself than the auto system was on the Lexus. And, again, the short drive I had in the HSE (it has the Vision Package) they worked reasonably well.

I'm with you on the cameras. Nice concept. But the views are pretty blurry. (Couldn't tell if it was the screen or a dirty camera lens.) Especially if you are trying to look at 4 cameras at once. But the Reverse Traffic warning is pretty cool. Didn't try the T-Junction feature but I suspect there will be times when that is useful as well. I see all these camera views as something I may use when off roading and going pretty slow or when wanting to check my parallel parking. ;-)

Vision Assist Lighting

So to update my previous post I drove the truck this morning in the dark and I will say that the head lights are much nicer than the standard head lights I drove with in the HSE model I test drove. The light pattern is much better and more evenly spread out. This could be that the test vehicle had some bad lights, ijdk.

The swivel motion of the lights is very small. I would say it is about half the amount of movement as the BMW headlights I am use to.

The auto high beam feature is actually nicer than the BMW's in the sense that if you have the lighting switch in Auto mode the lights do everything themselves. They cut on when the sun goes down (BMW does this as well) and they turn the high beams on whenever they feel like there is no vehicle in front of you (the BMW you have to flick the switch to put the high beams in auto mode) as well as it seems they are smarter than the BMW sensor as to what is a vehicle in front vs an overhead street light.

I've never had an issue with blind spots on any car. You just have to seat your mirrors properly.

Probably too late to contribute to the OPs original question but having had a 2011 with the vision assist package, the image quality is poor and the views are unintuitive. I never use it. Even the rear view camera image is poor, compared to my F150. The reality is most luxury vehicles have tech that is a generation behind mainstream vehicles, particularly Land Rover as their product cycles are much longer than, say, a Honda Accord.

Incidentally, I noticed this morning that the Land Rover USA web site finally acknowledges there will be a MY2014 LR4 in our future. Although you still can't build one or explore detailed specs and available options, the builder still features the 2013 model and seems to be broken. Come on guys, MY2015s are only a few short months away...

Looks like the builder has finally been updated with MY2014 pricing and options on landroverusa.com - better late than never.
