LR4 LED Tails on LR3?

I'd like to know if the LED tails from the LR4 can be fitted on to the LR3? My tail light had an unfortunate meeting with a tree that's prompted me to look for a replacement, and if I'm gonna shell out the $, I'd like to get a cool looking set of tail lights if possible.

There are LR3 accessory tail lights (which look very similar to LR4) which are a direct replacement. LR4 tail lights can be fitted with minor modification - check on the disco3.co.uk website for details.

Don't get the lr3 accessory version, they have this cheap looking chrome trim all around the taillight. The factory lr4 tails are a direct fit, all you have to do is put a resistor between the neg and ground wires of the blinkers.

Excellent! Thanks for the reply! Any chance you know of anyone (or you?) that's done this and can give a tip on what type of resistor and where it goes? I'm not an EE by trade, so retrofitting electrical things is a careful process for me.

You'll need this for the fast blinkers: http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm, the one that says: "Corrects Most LED Related Turn Signal Problems and bulb-out warnings for larger bulbs - Adds about 25 watts of load."
