My stereo did not work this morning... or rather the speakers. No matter which input I selected (CD, radio, aux etc) no sound. If I cranked up the volume, I can hear a hiss. Also tried the bluetooth phone -- no sound from that either.

Stopped at the bank, restarted the car, still no sound. Stopped at the gas station, restarted the car, stereo worked fine again.

Just curious who all has had this problem, and was the dealer able to fix it.

LOL, I just had this same issue on Saturday.
Here's how it started.

I was rocking out to "Satchel" stopped at work to grab my headphones from my desk. I parked the car and with the stereo on I just turned the car off and pulled the keys out (just like any other day) when I turned the car back on the stereo was "on" but no sound came out of the speakers as you described.
I turned the car off and on with no improvement. Then I noticed when I was turning the car on and off the stereo never turned completely off (LCD display was illuminated) so once I got to my destination (with no music  ) I turned off the car then waited for the LCD display to go black, then turned the car back on.
At that point the music was back!

WOOT!

So now I turn the stereo off before turning the car off and haven't had this issue since.

yup, had it happen twice in 2 weeks a month ago but not since. Read somewhere on this board where another guy had a radio problem that required the module that triggers the audio mode selection to be replaced. I plan on bringing this up along with the dash vibration I hear between 30-40mph next time I go to the dealer.

The Dash vibration! You hear it too! I am not imagining things. Please do get your delearship to investigate, and if they find the cause, please let me know. It is driving me nuts, they looked for it when I was in getting an inspection sticker, but couldn't find the cause.

Did you try turning the steroe off, then the car off then wait for the LCD display to go off completely before turning the car on, then the stereo on again? (when you got home that is)

Actually I did. The LCD went off, but after waiting about a minute or two, the information panel on the drivers console never did go off. I don't know if that's because I stayed in the car with the key in it. I was too lazy to get out of the car with my key... so I just started the car back up again but no sound.

Started the car this morning, and it's working again. Quite annoying, to say the least.

I had to remove the key all together. Please try it out the next time if you have the patience!
Also were you listening to the stereo loudly? in my case I was, I suspect (in my case) a breaker needed to reset in the amp (? speculative reason) but who knows.
I work with electronics, in my experience sometimes the sh*t just needs to be turned completely off before it starts behaving properly.

Also for the record I have a 2006 LR3 with the "premium 6 disk changer" stereo. Seems like this "feature" moved across the years.

No I never cranked up the stereo... not that kind of person. I just leave it on normal listening volume.

I'm curious if anyone had this successfully resolved at the dealer.
