First off, I want to thank all for the insight within this forum. Recently I experienced the following all occurring at one time without warning on my 2005:

1) HDC Fault
2) Parking Brake Fault
3) Parking Brake amber light illuminated
3) No special Programs
4) Speedometer does not work
5) DSC and ETC amber light
6) Check Engine amber light
7) Suspension amber light
8) Suspension is in access height
9) ABS light is illuminated
10) Odometer miles do not accumulate on display

The LR dealer replaced the following items with no success of fixing the problem:
1) Battery
2) Alternator
3) Brake light switch

I receive a phone call and the dealer replaced the all terrain switch in the center console. The problem is gone and has not returned. Thought I would post this due to the majority of threads I read pointed to other items like ABS, wheel sensor etc.

Thank you for posting this. It's always good to have another source of reference for things that can cause the christmas tree dashboard. I haven't heard of the special programs control knob failing other than when people spill drinks down into that part of the console (which is probably pretty easy since the drinks sit right there).

Do you know if that was your problem by chance? Did you happen to have any drinks/liquids that worked their way down through the console?

No spilled drinks, liquids, water etc. on or around the switch. That switch would have never been on my radar as the cause.

I found it interesting that this was the source of the issue. I prompted my service advisor of all the possible causes after reading many forum threads. Especially with the dead speedometer and odometer. I was almost certain it was an ABS sensor. He believed it was going to be the brake light switch or something in the steering column. After keeping it in the shop for 5 days they pinned it to "several lost communication faults in system". Determined it was the all terrain switch. Dealer drove it over 100 miles with no issues. I've had it since Friday with no issues. The way I look at it, it was time for a battery and brake light switch anyways. Could have gone without the alternator crapping out but figured it was time as I'm approaching 100K.

Yeah those are good "re-ups" at that mileage anyhow. Plus, honestly...those are cheap parts to replace. Wait until you do a bearing or tie rod end or EAS compressor.

I figure on spending $2000/yr for maintenance at this point, on my 10 year old LR3. HOWEVER, it's $2k to keep it looking/feeling/performing like brand new, not to keep it on the road. So for that, it's worth $167/mo and no car payment or interest. It's almost irreplaceable.

I agree. My annual maintenance cost for 2014 was $5100 so I'm looking forward to a number closer to yours. Although the dealer did replace all four brakes, lower control arm bushings, spark plugs, transfer case and diff fluid, starter and that lovely plastic thermostat housing in addition to the other items above.

$5100 is a big year....my numbers are lower, but then again I've gotten a lot of the major stuff out of the way by now (mostly under warranty) and I only drive it about 5000 miles per year these days.

Ok, looks like I might have the same problem. LR3 2006 . Start the vehicle no problem. Start riding down the road, about 15 mins later the brake amber light, then the DSC warning light, then the suspension light comes on. All lights are amber. Then the lower suspension light comes on. The vehicle lowers down. Now when I stop and turn the vehicle off and then restart, the vehicle goes back to normal only to be driving another 15 mins and then all the lights come back on and the vehicles lowers down again.
I have replaced the battery and the brake switch. Getting ready to flip 100,000 miles.

Might be a height sensor. Do you have the 4x4 screen? Also check your compressor. I've been having the same problem as you. I can drive about 10-15 miles and bing bong I get the three lights on my dash. Lowered suspension, dsc, no hdc communication, access height. Restart, lights go away and it happens again another 15 miles or so. I've changed my battery, brake switch and put new oem brake lights. I recently sprayed my compressor dryer cover with soapy water and here's what I've found.

So I'm thinking the slight leak is overworking my compressor and I get the faults because the compressor overheats so to not ruin it, it shuts down, and I get the suspension faults. I recently just ordered this kit from ebay to refurbish my compressor and fix the air leak. I'll check back after I install the new bits. I also noticed on my 4x4 nav screen a red line under my front right wheel when in access mode. Thinking it could also be the front right height sensor. I'll keep you posted.

So the above issues came back to haunt me this week. Dealer has contacted me and stated, "Hey Ryan. So it looks like the vehicle is going to need a new transfer case control module. There is corrosion in the module causing it to short out at times."

My hunch is that the windshield cowling is warped allowing water to leak into this lovely unsealed module.

Hopefully the update may help others down the pike...

** Update**

Dealer found that the Transfer Case Module was corroded. #NWM512070. Cleared corrosion from harness. Also replaced the "wiper cowling" # LR055193 and A-pillar kit. #DHB500400 Dealer drove it for two weeks with no problems. Gave me a 2013 Range Rover HSE loaner for two weeks, no charge. I picked it up this morning. Keeping fingers crossed.

Charges were as follows:

Transfer case module - $340.25
Wiper Cowling - $95.36
A-pillar kit - $30.80
Labor - $289.00

Total $767.35 plus tax.
