You guys crack me up! 12 months or 16K miles oil change interval is the same for all current "big" Land Rovers (including 2016 LR4, RRS, RR), no? I think it went up from the "old" 15K interval in 2015 or 2016.

I am heading over to the L.A. Auto Show some time this weekend to check out the new Disco in person, anyone else local planning a visit?

Friend of mine is a reporter for an on-line car magazine, she test drove the Discovery and loved it. There's something new/special with the towing set up, and she did a test drive, using a RIGHT hand drive Discovery, and said it was so easy! And she's never towed a boat before.

yet another reason used LR4s are selling like hotcakes! I just picked up a 2015 LR4 and it was slim pickings. Dealer told me the used LR4s are flying out the door because people prefer the styling to the new Discovery...
Damn. This post makes me think I should give the LR4s another look.

I've waited a long time for the new vehicle, and I'm sure there will be some good features, but damn... so many screwups also.

I will be waiting for your in-depth analysis Umberto - nothing like a firsthand look and touch to put some reality in this new machine!

I was not aware that the service intervals had climbed that high! For some reason I thought they were around 12,000 miles these days....Maybe because the people on this formum usually change things ahead of schedule...

Dump of photos of the new Disco I took at the L.A. Auto Show last night. There were two of them available to check inside and out - not the engine compartment, unfortunately - an orange and a grey one with black and tan (fantastic!) interiors, respectively. There was A LOT of interest in this car, including from several current LR4 owners who, in general, seemed to be quite taken by the new model. The LR4 was nowhere to be found on the show floor, of course. As weird as it sounds, the fully blinged out Range Rover that was right in front is only a 3-year old model, but it is starting to look dated next to this Disco. It barely got any looks from visitors.

Great shots.

Wow the rear end looks like a
square block, when looking right at it. Unappealing and boring.

Thanks for the pictures.

Overall... Meh. I'm picturing the back with a regular plate and it so... centered. Has no good place for a ladder. Very round. That tailgate... Jeeesh

Yup, the rear end is the most "unflattering" part of the new car's new body. I wonder why they even bothered with the funky looking off-center license plate, it makes it look weird but still kinda boring and minivan-like. They'll have to fix that in a future refresh, for sure.

The new Discovery does have that minivan look. In fact the low end model that is single speed xfercase could be that market segment.
