Cost to replace one front strut

You can buy the front strut and air spring as a whole assembly from AB for $330: https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/LR032646

Depending on what you need, maybe you just need the air spring or maybe you need the strut. If so, the parts price would be less, but the labor would be a little more to remove the bad component and install the new.

If replacing the whole assembly, it should take a competent shop only around an hour, maybe an hour and a half, to do. If replacing only one component, maybe ad about a half hour to that.

There's videos of it being done on youtube. It would be the same as on an LR3, or really any Rover with the air suspension.

FWIW If changing the damper (not just the spring), I'd change both so they match. It might feel a little weird with one fresh damper and one old one. Changing the whole thing doesn't look too hard (though I haven't had cause to do it personally just yet!).

3 15mm bolts.
1 12mm bolt
1 24mm bolt.


If you have a floor jack and a wrench/socket set you can do this. ETA: And a prybar

Accessing the innermost shock tower bolt is literally the hardest part.

Unfor the car went into limp mode so my wife drove it to the dealer. They replaced the compressor for 500 and then saw the front driver corner wasnt coming back up.

Part is about $350 from any reputable vendor online. Labor can be anywhere between $100-$200 dollars. So basically $600 give or take.

I had it done through the dealer when i had the CPO warranty. $1250!!! That's incredible
