Another angle - I am starting to get near the neighborhood of being almost moderately excited. At regular height, with smaller wheels and big chunky tires that thing might look good!

And here is the other side, looks like they just went right over the rear door and handle:

That port side makes that shoulder-line look like a piece of 1x2 wood trim they slapped on the side under the vinyl wrap. Wonder why? It's not hard to imagine what the body line does underneath it.

From these angles, I'm wondering if the back line is really abrupt as it is. I like it, but I'm wondering if it isn't actually a little rounded.

I think, at this point, the design of the front end, the design of the rear end, the window placement, and the ability to fit 18" wheels are my biggest questions.

To me, one of the iconic design elements of the Defender's windows are the alpine windows and the small windows on either side of the rear door. I can't see this version having those, based on these images.

I’ve gotta say, I’m not hating it as much as I thought I would. This should not be the next Defender (and I’m still not convinced I’ll like it). More suited as the LR5 we should have had.

Welp...seeing that I was never in the market for a Defender and the D5 just isn't my thing...I can get behind this design thus far. It may say defender, but this could by my answer to an LR5!
