I have a late model 2016 LR4 and having issues with the auto folding mirrors. When I park the car, I fold the mirrors in with the auto fold button. When I start the car again, they are not automatically folding out again. Anyone have this issue and have a fix?

That’s how it’s supposed to operate.

Most of the cars are setup to fold when locked via the key fob, and unfold when unlocked. Does yours do this? If not you could enable that if you have a GAP tool, or pay a probably outrageous amount for your dealer to do it.

Mine function as you described if I fold them in manually.

its weird, sometimes they fold when I lock and sometimes they dont. If they are folded when I lock, they dont unfold when I unlock. Also, they won't unfold with the button on the side door. I have to manually unfold them.

Are they struggling to fold in the first place? I've had it where the smallest bit of resistance causes them to get stuck.

My 2013 has a "lazy" right mirror. It folds in slowly or partially. When fully extended (unfolded for driving), the mirror also doesn't adjust inward - just up and down.

I suspect they're not the most robust parts/design ever created.

My 2013 driver side mirror is acting a little flaky, too. I noticed that when it autofolds in after locking with the keyfob, that the bezel is slightly touching the window. It works correctly on the passenger side and just folds in close without touching.
