My wife has a 2015 LR4. We have had it about two years. It has suddenly become very shaky in the steering wheel when applying the brakes at about 50 mph but will ease off once it gets slow enough to turn. So hard braking, it does not shake. Light braking it shakes bad. Also, when going over a bump small or bigger like a speed bump it makes a clunking sound like there are things loose in the front axle. It actually diverts the steering wheel a little. Please help.

My money is on front control arm bushings based mostly on the clunk.

1. control arms
2. rotors

as other have said, most likely control arms since you have a clunk

I can't attest to the long term durability of them but Lucky 8 had 2 control arms for $228 INCLUDING shipping! Just put them on, and they seem solid.

I bought theirs once. Ball joints went out at right around a year, making a horrible squeaking sound and clunk over any little bump. Looked like there was hardly any grease in them from the factory. Called Lucky 8 and was told there was nothing they would do about it. Swapped those out for some from AB.

Are the ball joints greaseable, at least?

Only if you poke a grease needle through the rubber boot. By the time I found out they were low on grease, I'd been driving on them a while and the damage had been done.

That's too bad. I've had mixed experience with sealed ball joints. On my 2005 Jeep Liberty, that thing went over 200k on the original ball joints, and they showed no signs of failing when I sold it. Other vehicles, though, I've had to replace them pretty frequently and always tried to get joints with zerk fittings so I could keep them well lubricated.

Are the ball joints replaceable in these A-arms? And if so, are there greaseable ball joints made for them?
