I have been dealing with bad braking vibrations from the front of my 2013, which I traced to cheap rotors that have gotten uneven deposits on them. On a recent trip to NH, one of the rear caliper pins decided to start dragging and ended up wearing one of the rear pads to the metal, where it ruined the rotor there too. So, I ended up doing all 4 brakes(pads + rotors), using quality zimmermann rotors and pagid pads on all four corners. As we were regreasing all the slider pins with the correct silicone paste(previous synthetic grease caused the stupid pin bushings to start swelling up, all 4 bushings were fat and had to be replaced). I then started thinking about the brembo brake upgrade, which uses 6pot fixed calipers. PowerfulUK has this video where they appear to use the rotors and calipers from an RR Sport, with the rotors being 20mm bigger than factory and then using the big 6pot fixed calipers. Video here:

Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, any feedback? Does the front/rear bias get messed up in any way? Appears you do need 20in wheels for these, also. Would love to see part numbers for the whole job too -it looks like you need new rear shields, new calipers, new rotors and new pads, along with bolts, etc. . At some pt, might be worthwhile trying out so as to get rid of the stupid sliding pin design. Thoughts welcome.

I was dealing with bad brake vibrations as well. Replaced all 4 calipers with new calipers from Atlantic British. Used the AB rear brake kit but went with Zimmerman rotors up front. Braking is smooth again.

Really happy with these zimmermanns. I forgot what smooth braking felt like. I got the set from FCP Euro, 4 rotors and 4 sets of pads were 398. Plus, there is that whole lifetime warranty thing...

Those Zimmermans are quite a bit cheaper than OEM. I'm normally a "go OEM" on things like brake rotors, but it seems like I'm replacing the rotors on my LR4 about every 40 to 50k miles regardless. I use Hawk pads.

Zimmerman still have the quality seal of approval on this forum?

The Zimms seem to be ok. This vehicle seems to be very sensitive to brake imperfections. I have tried everything to keep braking smooth including checking runouts on hubs & rotors during instal and re-checking on vehicle runouts etc. It is still touch and go lol. Keep the pins greased with silicone

Zimmermans have been fine on my car. I think they are the OEM rotor. I also think the drilled rotors warp faster.

My OEM rotors have Brembo stamped on them. That's what I plan on replacing them with when it's due. I'm on my 2nd set of pads on the front, and 3rd set of pads on the rear. Still smooth braking. I believe the rotors have 55k miles on them.

Do you re-bed every so often? I bedded them in after install but wondering if it's prudent to re-bed every 4k miles or so, to keep the deposits even.

Funny you should say. If I get some high speed braking shlight braking shake I simply do some heavy high speed stops and it solves the issue.
