Probably that oil cooler tube in your picture, but I think it’s difficult to distinguish between the pump/oil cooler tube leak and the front crossover leaking. As I recall, the front crossover goes into the block just behind that area and coolant can run out from the same place.

The residual gunk is very UV active so I think it's cooked coolant rather than oil as the Rover coolant is UV active and the oil is not.
And since the exact cause is unknown, and it all needs to come apart, well, it's a grand case of you might as well.....
I will start the parts list tomorrow....

Yes, clearly coolant. I didn’t mean to imply that it was oil. That little black tube delivers coolant from the water pump to the oil cooler. I just call the oil cooler tube for lack of a better term. It has two rubber seals, one on each end. They tend to leak, or so I’ve been told by a dealer in the past.

I was planning on a complete cooling system transplant, pump, both crossover pipes, hoses, and misc bits plus both belts. Or best to just go for the front crossover pipe as that is the most likely culprit??? I do have the luxury of taking my time and taking the truck out if service indefinitely, so i could do it piecemeal..

Definitely do the front/rear crossovers together as you need to have the intake manifold/sc off to access the rear cross (at least its much easier). I did the water pump and t-stat at the same time, and one or two of the hoses off the t-stat. I don’t think its necessary to replace all the hoses, but just my opinion.

2013, LR4, ~89K

OK, getting back to this as I have been out of pocket for a bit.

Limiting the scope to front and read crossovers, anyone have a complete parts list (including the "you might as well change this bit because it's already removed"), a torque specification list and the intake manifold torque sequence??

I have not found any good videos on these (at least yet)...

Anyone have the shop manual for the 2013 - it would probably help a bit..

Thanks

I purchased the manuals, opened her up and have diagnosed the leak most likely as the oil cooler line and/or the oil cooler line gasket.

SO, do I purchase the little oil cooler line and the gasket for just a few dollars,

OR, since it's all open do I also do front crossover, rear heater manifold(rear crossover) and the water pump?

2013 and 89K miles

Opinions?

If it were me I’d just do the whole thing. I find half the battle is just getting the project started - I’d rather not do that part twice if I can get it all done at once.

I decided to do the whole 9 yards. I want to keep this vehicle forever and even if the parts are ok now, 89k is a good time to replace with that long term goal. If I was only keeping it another 50k, I would take the cheaper route. I am recording this, might eventually end up on UTube.
