I did a quick search for IID tool, and nothing came up. Any recommendations aside from Gap Diagnostics? I am not overly excited to spend 700CAD on the GAP IID Tool BT.

I just got my IID tool from Lucky8 - didn't want the free mousepad and their system wasn't showing free shipping, so I called and they fixed it all up and sent it on its way. Got here yesterday, but the LR4 is in the shop so didn't get a chance to have a play. Give them a call, they'll setup your order, send you a PDF of the purchase order, then you can pay them via paypal. Was a good experience for me.

I defer to the highly experiences folks, but my IID Tool experience was less than anticipated.

I purchased mine directly from the manufacturer.
The company was hard to work with, did not return e-mails.
I found the registration process to be exceedingly poorly documented and highly frustrating. Eventually I got there, but no excuse for that kind of support...

The tool can do lots of things, but at least on my 2013 it does not actually clear all codes, not a huge deal, but still, for $650 US I would expect at least basic functionality on a simple task.
It has a very limited list of batteries to pick from for resetting after a new battery install - just pick the closest battery and hope it's close enough.

Is there anything better? I don't know and after making this investment, I'm not looking to dump another pile of cash...

Yours is the first negative review I've read.

Keep in mind this is a relatively VERY small cottage industry, so we're going to have to do a bit of the figuring-out on our own.

Have you downloaded and installed the updates to the device? I didn't for a while with mine, but once I did I realized I was missing out on a bit.

If your device isn't clearing all the codes, it could be that your vehicle keeps raising them. The only codes I've had that won't clear are the ones where the vehicle keeps having faults. Keep in mind that not every fault lights up a light on the dash. It took me fixing those faults before they'd clear once and for all.

New to the IID Tool and they have given me nothing but outstanding service. I needed to program a couple key fobs and for some reason we had to do an ECU flash with the latest software before I could perform the task. Their response to me was virtually instantaneous. Even long after they were closed for the night Patrick would reply. They walked me through the entire process step by step, even after I screwed up a couple procedures and they patiently walked me back through it again. I hope that is what I can expect in the problems to come.

No, I have not updated the software since the initial "install", and I do need to do that.

The message that will not clear is the "Maintenance Required" that flashes up at startup for 5 or 6 seconds.
As I recall that was an "irritation reminder" to get the vehicle to the dealership and not anything substantive - it cleared in the 2016, but not in the 2013 - go figure.

I hope that my experience was the outlier and not the norm - I understand it's a very small niche business and at times it comes down to one person and their availability.
There are many much more critical comments on one of the Range Rover groups - overly critical based on my experience.

The maintenance required light isn’t a CEL, it’s listed under dashboard or instrument cluster IIRC. You have to clear it every 15k.
