Replacing a valve block and wondering how to properly connect air lines to a factory new one with these white inserts.

Do these pull out and air line push in without removing the brass fitting, or do I need to remove the brass nuts, fit them over the air lines and reconnect.

I have swapped a block before, but don't recall these little doodads. We just unscrewed the fittings and reconnected.

Thanks

I'm not sure, but curious to know the answer. I took out my center valve block a few years ago when I was diagnosing a problem. I cleaned it and reinstalled it, but feel like I may have partially stripped out one of the air line fittings upon reinstallation. It's weighed on my mind and I just recently got around to buying a new one, but it's sitting right next to me on my couch sidetable while I wait for time to do the job.

It certainly looks like you can remove the old plastic airline, remove the old fitting and barb from the end, remove the white plastic pieces from the new valve block, then just insert the bare plastic air line into these new fittings for installation. That's the way it was when I installed Arnott air struts in the front last April.

These are compression fittings. You need to unscrew the brass fittings from the valve block and throw away the white plastic air line. Fit the new brass fitting on your current air lines and feed the air line about 3mm past the brass fitting, and mount it back normally. That's it.

And that is what I thought I remembered doing before. I recall a bag or package of the ferrules that slip over the air lines and then the brass connector tightens into the block.

That memory was complicated by me thinking I saw a video somewhere of a fellow just popping the white spacers out and pushing in the air lines. When I looked at the new block in my hand, each brass fitting has a paint mark which I would take to indicate it has been torqued or tightened at the factory, so I got to thinking hmmm...

On this Atlantic British air strut video, they just push the new line into the air strut. Maybe that's what you saw.

Must be a different kind of fitting.

Found the one I saw. Take a look at 5.04 in this video from Arnott.
Just like that... I too over thunk it. I ended up removing the brass fitting and sliding in the nylon tubing to "make sure" it was all the way in.

Exactly what I did when changing one previously. Just saw these new white things and started thinking.

Swapped the rear valve block last evening and can confirm for posterity that the fittings are one time push to connect once you pull the little white plugs. They made the replacement super simple.

One time push fittings, at in there's no way of taking it apart for the next time, like the push fittings on the dehydrator cover?
