Another vote for stock tyres being merely OK on road (soon suck ...) and pretty crappy off road in mud. They'll suck up soft mud in an instant and then the fun begins.
Like others here, I've only ever really got stuck in mud/bog conditions with stock tyres. Since swapping out the BadYears (to Nitto's in my case but there are plenty of other options today) I haven't been stuck once.
I have another use for the stock tyres though - in my case they're keeping my 19" wheels stacked & unscratched in the garage until I decide to maybe try the MTR's.
