Come-along vs. Hi-Lift

Maybe Woodsy was right; maybe there is some merit to throwing a come-along in the back of the LR3 vs. a Hi-lift. I don't have any jacking points or mounting points....so I'd basically only need it for winching. Maybe the come-along would just be easier for that.

Thoughts?

I use a come-along and carry 2 bottle jacks and a couple blocks of wood for terrain jacking situations. The hi-lift is not the easiest to use as winch and is really only good for jacking out of a hole or rut on the LR3 if you have a rim hook strap. If you have RS sliders you can use the hi-lift on those.

I was looking into the 3 ton power puller by the Wyeth-Scott, it is 3t/5t puller made of iron heavy duty , yet is costs ~$160.00 the come -along are not as tough yet cheaper...
Hs anybody actually used the come-along to pull the LR3 out of bad spot???

I have the Wyeth Scott 3-35-A-SLT which is good for lifting (vertically) 6,000 lb or towing (flat) 12,000 lb. I do not have a winch on my LR4 (yet) so this is my safety if I can't get myself unstuck with 1) avoidance of bad spots; 2) a shovel; 3) maxtraxx. Haven't been forced to use the come-along yet but happy that it's in my kit.
