I don't THINK mine is anywhere near as bad as that one. Tough to say for sure from that pic and I've only an iPhone to snap a photo of it with at the moment. I'll try and get one later.

So now I'm hopeful that it was the altitude as you said in the other thread, and concerned it's tank damage as I had originally feared. I thought I'd fill it up all the way and see if it's more accurate after the float was "reset" as you said. We'll see how this tank goes....

Maybe it's worse than I thought. I'm no longer hopeful that it was just the altitude causing my problem. Although does it make any sense that after some time it would work perfectly except for the fuel gauge?

High Country says you can order it from them configured to work with the RS sliders. Does it STILL not fit properly when ordered like this?

Mine is dented in about an inch or two deep and in the front foot of the tank skid. Is this where the pump is? Is that enough damage to have potentially caused my problem and/or warrant a replacement?

Sushisean, I was in your shoes for the last 8 months needing some kind of "fix" for a dented up gas tank skid. Happy to say the Hi Country tank skid does fit with my option 2 RS sliders with no modifications. Just be sure to specify when ordering. The t-case skid was a different story but was still do-able.

When you dented your skid, did you have to replace your tank? was it as bad as mine? Do you leave the factory skid in place when you install the High Country one? What is that plate you have going over the muffler?

Thats a pretty good dent. I have seen a few with problems with less of a dent. Mostly gage problems but one with pump issues.

Looks like it will have issues working with the the Rasta Tcase guard if it bolts to the crossmember.

Ah that's a shame I need a skid plate down there. Guess I'll end up getting one custom made.

I will have to go crawl down and take a look. If it bolts to the cross member, that is where the rasta plate does that covers the area in front of the cross member.

Hard to tell exactly from the photo.
