I purchased a front shaft from Atlantic British and installed, cost was 399. thanks for all your help

Nice, did you grease it 'til the grease oozed out all four caps on ea u-joint?

(recommended)

If your a clean freak then just wipe off the excess.

happy new driveshaft

I have a 1996 land rover dico I took it in to get looked at and had no problems going in. The shop said my power siring was leaking so they put a knew hose on it? I never had leaks until they did this and now its making noise when I turn for the first 2min of driving. well it got worse so I took it in and now the drive shaft is broke could this have been from what they did?

its doubtful that the powersteering leak had anything to do with the drive shaft. The shaft initially gets sweeky and then shakes the whole truck upon exceleration. I just replaced the drive shaft on my disco, you can find them rebuilt, or just replace the u joints. Some of the other guys on here can tell you how to go about that much better than i. Good luck

What was the reason you brought it in to have it check out?? If it was not leaking or shaking or doing anthing else, it hard to determine what the problem was. If it was difficultty turning, it could be a the power steering, or a bad wheel. hub. In this thread you will find greg409, ask him as he has a greater knowledge of the disco than I do. Best of Luck
