I found a company that makes their own windshields (US made) and come with lifetime national warranty against air leaks, water leaks, etc. The company is called Safelite. www.safelite.com They quoted me $375.50 installed for front windshield w/rainsensor, non-heated for the LR3.

The company seems pretty reputable. We'll see Wed. when they install it.

Ok, my memory was slightly off on the price difference. LR3 non-heated OEM windshield is $319. LR3 heated OEM windshield is $471. So, a $152 difference. (As of last November.)

Of course, this does not include mouldings, clips and labor. Your cost will vary.

Well, the windshield was replaced today by Safelite Auto glass, took them a little less then an hour. They got the winshield straight from the LR dealership (LR logo on driver side of windshield) and the total price was $397.00

Before that I called one of the local LR dealership and they quoted me around $620(not sure I forgot) to replace the windshield.

I had also called anothe outside windshield company and they quoted me $700+ and the windshield would have came from PPG (not sure if it's OEM or not)

In conclusion, I recommend www.safelite.com if you happen to crack a windshield on your LR3

Ps: if you ever get tree sap on your car, please take it to an auto detailer and get it taken care of ASAP, that's what happened to our LR3 (tree at wife's work sprinkled SAP all over hood and top of LR3) I took it the next day and had the car waxed and treated to remove the SAP. I saw another customer car there and they waited too long to remove Tree SAP from their car and now the SAP has eaten into the clear coat and the Detailers can't do anything about it.

Sorry for the long post, I hope this helps if anyone needs it.
