What kind of leak is this?
If you're just looking under the vehicle for coolant, you might not find anything. Skid plate will catch a lot of it.- f1racer328

Serpentine/Accessory belt failure on a very wet, dark MI road in the middle of nowhere...
As mentioned previously; when the belt broke it also damaged the coolant temperature sensor found directly below the thermostat; here are some images; for reference you can see the AC compressor behind the connector: The damage is to both the thermostat which can be found here at FCP Euro... -

Check engine light on
Yes, the check engine light is actually on full-time. Not a lot of coolant spilled on any connectors if any.. After everything was put back together it actually ran OK for a while before the check engine light came on. Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8
the two killers of these engines are coolant component failures and timing chains (to a lesser degree). not aware of other big instances where engines just blow up. i would absolutely take care of cooling system maintenance proactively. -
Is this a failing crossover pipe?
The heater core can be replaced without removing the dash. The coolant pipes just have to be tweaked a little bit while removing. Basically, remove the center console and HVAC control panel.- Rover Range

Open to Suggestions
Some vehicles have a symposer. Which is attached to that fitting. The vehicles that don't have it, the port is capped off. The symposer creates a V8 like sound on acceleration.- Rover Range

...on the back of the intake manifold? I know this was developed during pretty lean times at JLR, but this makes no sense to me. Looks like a coolant outlet that has been blanked out. For anyone else that goes down this path, watch out for those fender points. I've bumped my head on them...- scapistron

...how long you were running hot, but your temp shot up because the water pump stopped circulating which is very different from losing all your coolant and running dry (as happens with the crossover failure scenario). In your case, I expect your temps were not near as high, so if you kept it... -
Adding Pentofrost SF to OEM LR Coolant?
When I replaced my radiator I just went for OEM coolant from the dealer. They sell the concentrated formula and it was surprisingly cheap.- f1racer328

Fluids change after 9 years?
I'll add to the budget. I get the wisdom of the fluids and lubes, but can't see doing 'spark plugs' until there seems to be an issue? Save those $'s in case one of the coolant pipes starts spewing before 40K? (SMH..LOL). -

Made an appointment for timing chain fix
I was asking them to replace the remaining coolant parts (pump, t-stat, hoses, etc), I already did the rear crossover. Is this a failing crossover pipe?
OP never came back. Eating a pint of coolant every week or so and no visible leaks? Sounds like a head and there is a good chance why this vehicle was dumped in the first place. Look I scooped up a cool LR4 for almost nothing and it looks brand new! -

I don't know about the quality these days or must be bad luck. But this was a OEM crossover heater pipe I got at a Land Rover dealership in LA recently. It seems to have crack/bad seams.
