Not sure about how 'most' cars to this. Audi/VW lets you hit the paddles when in normal mode - it bounces you to manual mode for a set amount of time (like 1 minute) if you don't hit the paddles or move it to manual mode it will then go back to normal. It works VERY well and I've never...
Yeah understood.
Anyone try the driver's seatbelt route? Disconnect the seat belt wire under the seat, then disable the chime/notification. Car will assume seat belt is unbuckled and not do the start/stop.
But not sure what other systems could be affected by this. IE airbags....
EDIT: Found...
Anyone figured out a way of disabling the start/stop system without turning on the dash light?
From everything I read it sounds like other than it spontaneously not working, any attempt to disable (disconnecting battery) will turn on the dash light, which is equally annoying as the start/stop...

Been under an LR3 changing transfer case fluid when it auto leveled down..... flat on my back watching the frame get closer and closer to my chest. Never again without a jack stand
Bumping this up as I decided to upgrade to an LR4. Got the 17's mounted this weekend. Mine is a '16 SDv6 (not sure if everything is 100% across all LR4 years) but this is what it took for mine:
Process is basically the same as before - the goal is to get the LR3 v6 brakes on the LR4. The LR3...
I've got an extra hitch with 2 keys if anyone is looking.
Also, the key is locked in the hitch when it is removed from the vehicle. When you install it, it releases the key
I haven't seen those.
It is really going to come down to the profile of the inner barrel. My hunch is that the 17's probably aren't going to work on the v8 brakes unless the ET pushes them way out. Even with the spacers I needed to grind quite a bit off the calipers.
Now the real issue...
Good looking rack. I would hate to make you ship it - Can you get me a quote to get it over to Washington (98028)?
If no local buyer pops up, let me know and I'll take it.
A marine store has a product called "life caulk". Never hardens and obviously meant to seal in a wet environment. I've used it on other automotive applications and it works well.
You could do a regular silicone, but it will fail over time just like what is on your house. But it should last...
Brakes still work just as they always have - I really can't tell a difference.
But I would say, don't run the v6 fronts with the v8 rears - I did have to do a panic stop and the rears definitely locked for a second before the computer kicked in and fixed the situation.
The Lucky8 17" steel...
It seems I share the same luck as the rest in this thread.
Bosch Icons = garbage. Only lasted 4 months before I watched them fall apart while driving over a pass.
Switched to Sillblades - OMG the squeaks and chatter is horrendous. But after spending a couple hundred dollars on wiper blades...
Not a mount for a side step. They are to protect against the tire moving rearward during an accident and crushing the footwell.
They were bolt on for 05-07. Then switched to a weld on design in 08.
Personally I would just unbolt it and forget about it. Probably more hassle trying to recoup...
Nope not at all.
Honestly don't worry too much about this. Get the tires installed and run them for a week. You'll see where it slightly rubs. Again only when turning the wheel to the right at full lock. Turning left at full lock or during normal driving you won't hear a thing. You can...
