Check engine light/scanned fix catalytic convertor

How many miles? What was the specific code? Before throwing thousands at it, it might be worth replacing the O2 sensors depending on the code. They're only a couple hundred bucks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another Suspension Fault - with pattern

For fault reading, it is not VIN-locked. Just the other features. I used mine to read codes on the SO's Evoque. Houm's suggestions are good starting places, and even potentially cheap (brake switch), but without knowing the codes you might just be throwing parts at it. EDIT: This thread...

Another Suspension Fault - with pattern

What is the exact message that displays? Is the amber suspension light (the one with the arrows around the icon of the truck) illuminated? Your best course of action is to read the faults that are stored with something like an IID Tool, they will give you a much better idea of which components...

    Wonder what happened here

The rear diff might be a bit problematic... Hard to say, but that white object definitely looks like a pillow stuck under what I can only imagine is all of their gear that's been dumped forward from the back. I doubt the airbags would go off given what looks like minimal damage. If you saw...

    E-brake lock-up!!!

From recent extensive research on the EPB module and adjustment, I've figured out a few key things. 1. Squealing when engaging the EPB means the adjustment is not correct (too loose) and the motor will eventually jam by over tightening the threaded rod that pulls the cables. Depending how hard...

    Off-Roading in MA (with Axel)

Also live in MA and have done a tiny amount of off-roading out west but always looking for other recommended places. Shame all the pictures are broken now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Parking brake service mode and adjustment knurl help

Yeah, didn't find any help. Still unclear as to why my adjusters were already fully released, without touching them, and why the handbrake drags while they are fully released. It might have something to do with putting it into service/mounting mode, but many other guides completely leave out...

Parking brake service mode and adjustment knurl help

I'm stumped. Turns out the adjustment was already fully released. This was the case on both sides. I went ahead and put everything back together and the parking brake is definitely dragging. It engages and disengages fine. Realized that this is also likely the source of a metallic noise I've had...

Parking brake service mode and adjustment knurl help

Hmm, well I put the new rotor on and it seems fine. I wasn't able to get it into "mounting mode" or service mode as mentioned. I wasn't able to turn the adjustment at all. I wonder if something isn't together right? I'll have to go over the instructions provided (thank you!) and see if there is...

Parking brake service mode and adjustment knurl help

Tried the procedure several times to put it into service mode but no luck (position 2 hit the brake pedal 3 times and hold and push down on EPB lever for 3-5 seconds). Is this really necessary to replace rear rotors? I ask because I cannot get my adjustment knurl to move on one side. Managed to...

Can smell gas through vents on startup

I had this happen to me. Take off your plastic engine cover and you'll probably see and smell gas. The o rings for the fuel pipe had failed and gas was dripping onto the top of the engine, specifically the rear driver's side where it connects to the fuel rail. Not a safe situation! The entire...

Replacing Stock Air Box with Round K&N Air Filter

I've done an exhaust mod for more sound. It's not the same as the post above, in that I just had the center resonator (the turtle looking thing in the middle) cut out and replaced with straight pipes. This makes the truck louder, but mainly only under throttle. It is a bit louder than I...

    ProSpeed slider install...

Forgive the off topic question, but what are those bright aluminum looking hollow boxes attached to the frame rail in the underside pics?

    Ordered a ProSpeed rack!

Also curious about where you ordered it from and how much it set you back. I've always drooled over it, but the cost of shipping it over from the UK brought me back to my senses.

Transfer Case & Differential Fluid Specification

Sorry to revive an older thread, but the front diff level instructions have got me scratching my head: 5. Fill with 0.61 litres (1.07 pints) (0.64 US quarts) Castrol SAF-XO - 75W/90 (LRN 7591) CAUTION: Do not use the fill plug as a level, fill with the correct quantity How have people been...

    Roof cross bar suggestions

In the end, I went with the $188 eBay cross bars. Fit and finish seem fine. Sturdy and look good. Glad I saved a couple hundred bucks.

    AC compressor noise

The whining due to low refrigerant stops soon after you press the ECON button, shutting off the A/C. The A/C runs with the heat on as well to dry the air and defog, so the real test is to use the ECON button and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, then it is likely something else.

    AC compressor noise

I have the same thing. From the research that I have done, the noise is due to low refrigerant, not the compressor itself. The rear AC lines often corrode and leak. My plan is to get the refrigerant recharged when summer rolls around and see if that fixes the sound and for how long. Ultimately...

Is the Days to Service indicator reliable?

Somehow my days/miles countdown on my 2008 disappeared (it no longer shows up when starting up) after a service and the reset procedure online doesn't seem to work at all. Does it show up consistently or only if you go over the service interval? Mine was negative when I bought the truck.

    Aqua Sports Carrier replacement parts

Spoke a moment too soon. Went on the Thule website and found what looks to be the straps exactly. http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products/carriers-and-racks/water-sport-carriers/water-sports-carrier-accessories/thule-locking-straps-10-ft-832-_-1678740 What a pain in the butt that LR and Thule...

    Aqua Sports Carrier replacement parts

Yeah, but that wouldn't help me much if the part can't be bought separately (it was purchased from another individual). I called Thule and they said the part number doesn't work in their system (even though it has a Thule reference number) and the local dealership said they can't sell any of the...

    Aqua Sports Carrier replacement parts

So I ordered an official Land Rover Aqua Sports carrier from online, but the box ripped open and I'm missing one of the straps. My question is, should I just return the whole thing or can you buy the individual parts separately? Would any old ratchet strap work?

    LR3 slight differential noise normal?

I'm at 89k miles now and was looking into a transmission fluid flush from a dealer or LR specific indy nearby. Why is a flush not a good idea?
