I took the truck in for the following items:
1. Rear hatch doesn't work. - they said need new actuator and are repairing under warranty.
2. Suspension rattle. I told them I probably need bushings. Said that they replaced the uppers, then it still rattled, so they went to work on...
Normally, as a consumer, I am hardly the "complaining" type. However, this is getting really bad. I really feel sorry for the average consumer that isn't ready to do battle every time they take their LR3 in for service. I have written about these problems before, but they just keep getting...
Thanks for the advice. I will try that next time. Going to the LR dealer is like a sporting event. You have to first be on the defense for all the maintenance items that they want to do for the most outrageous price possible. Then, when you tell them "no thanks, I will just do that $1100...
Yeah, "warranty." I am out of "warranty," but no worries, as I have purchased the most expensive extended warranty that LR sells. Too bad it hasn't covered jack like the AC lines, or any wiring that might get wet.
So, don't drive your LR in the rain, as it might void the warranty!
I am...
Just to be clear, the dealer didn't blame anything on the rock sliders, they just act like it is a pain in their ass to remove them.
Yes, I have another guy to do work on the LR3, but I had it in there because I do have a crappy Land Rover warranty. I should have just told them to pack it...
They told me that had to drop my rock sliders to get to them. Of course, extra charge for that. I mean, the guy at the last rally took all of 1 hour to install them in the first place. How hard could it be to take out a few bolts and drop it?
So I took my LR3 into the dealer for "warranty" work because the airconditioner wasn't working. I bought the $3000 extended warranty a few months ago - what a joke that is.
So on the first trip they put in some dye to find the leak, and I am supposed to drive it around for 2 weeks. Fine...
I just got back from a trip to Florida and back. I noticed that occasionally, on the highway if I am cruising and let off the accellerator to coast a bit, and then accellerate again, I get this hesitation before it "catches." It didn't do it all the time, but it was slightly unnerving.
If you have a canoe or Kayak you might want to check out the Thule Hullivator. Unfortunately it only works with Thule's cross bars that extend out past the tracks.
Anyone do this? I am being told that I need to do this in order to qualify for the extended warranty. For that, plugs, and airfilter, they want $1650.
Thoughts?
So I drop off the LR3 for the new steering wheel, speaker repair, and warranty inspection, and they give me this loaner LR2.
It has one of those goofy keys that you stick in a slot, and then push this other button to turn the car on and off. It kind of reminds me of the days when companies...
