I have a 2003 Disco and was wondering if I could troubleshoot the MAF by swaping it out with a friend of mines...he has a 2000 Disco II. I know the housing for the sensor is smaller on his, but the sensors themselves look the same.

The following codes were read:
p0300 - random misfire/ multiple cylinders
p0304 - misfire cylinder 4
p0305 - misfire cylinder 5
p0306 - misfire cylinder 6
p0307 - misfire cylinder 7
p1300 - misfire detected sufficient to cause catalyst damage
p1412 - SAI system fault (LH side) - air delivery not reaching catalysts
p1415 - SAI system fault (RH side) - air delivery not reaching catalysts
p1171 - System too Rich (bank 1)
p1144 -

I found vacuum hose that had came off the intake manifold and reinstalled. Replaced the air filter.

Replaced spark plugs and wires:
magnecor wire set
champion platinum plugs

After all this I had the codes cleared and reread with the following results:

p0300, p0306, p0305 were all that showed back up. however, I did not drive vehicle just started in garage with minor reving b/c SES light is flashing which is a bit scary.

Back to my original question...I exchanged amy 2003 disco MAF w/ a friends 2000 disco MAF and it didnt change a thing. Im running out of options and I need to know if these two parts are interchangable.... or did I waist my time.

Any info/ advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ben
