hickersb, Curious about the tpms, did you experience any issues with the tpms sensors in each wheel? Did you end up purchasing news one, and was it easy to sync to the car?
I am using HUF UVS-series programmable sensors with the rubber valve stem (they seem to fit in the in the steel tuffants). I used a TPMS tool (vt-56) to clone the IDs from my factory sensors (which are still in the factory wheels with snow tires).

Odd man out here, but if I change wheel diameter (currently on factory 19’s) I’m going 20” not 18”.

Not a fan of having to trim/grind/modify my calipers to fit a smaller wheel.

Tuffants and compomotives do not require grinding calipers. That’s needed when installing 18” LR3 wheels or the LK8 steel wheels.

Not sure where you got your information, but there have been 18" wheels that fit fine on LR4s since 2015 when the Compomotives came out. Since then, more and more wheels and brands have came to market. I listed several earlier in this thread where you don't have to grind anything.

If you want to keep it Land Rover, the 18" wheels from the new Defender fit perfect. Here's mine:

I imagine the 18" aluminum wheels from the new Defender will fit too.

I never weighed them, but they are pretty heavy.

How do some 18’s fit & others don’t? Does that have to do with backspacing and/or offset?

It's the design of the barrel. PowerfulUK describes it a bit in this video here:

Is there any issue running (19’s) 255/60 with a 255/55 (stock) as the spare, and only using the spare only as needed in emergency situations?

I don’t rotate.

I would never run a spare of a different diameter on a full time four wheel drive vehicle.
