Hi All,
I bought a 2000 Discovery II from a private seller. He only had one key. That key's fob was non functioning. He also had two new blank which their fobs had been programmed. Upon getting the new keys cut I Lund out that even though tey can now unlock the doors (not using he on part), they can not turn the ignition. Close inspection between them and the original show that they differ in the length of the groves on the smooth noncut sides of the key. The original's grove stops about 1.5 cm of the fob. The new ones stop about .5 cm short of the fob. I suspect these keys are for a different model. Is there any where I can just but the metal part of the key since I do have working fobs? I was able to move the metal key part to one of the new fobs, so I would just need one blank.

Thanks,
Michael
