I have a 2006 LR3 with 120k miles
It's been very well cared for but its had an ongoing starter issue that seems to have become worse as of late. I've not taken it in, yet, because I want to be equipped with some knowledge around what the causes MIGHT be, first.

I suspect others have experienced the same problem and can provide some helpful feedback? So far I've been told it's a fuel pump issue or a clog in fuel filter or cylinders or the anti theft immobilization feature. All of these things are totally unrelated so not sure which direction is more likely the guilty party not playing nice in the sandbox!

Someone PLEASE educate me and give me some eazy to follow steps to troubleshoot before I spend a gazillion dollars at mechanic.

As an owner of a 2006 lr3 with 300k on it, I know mine liked batteries very much, not only for breakfast, also for lunch and for supper :eating:, resulting in the weirdest faults, including starting/not starting yet turning over randomly as well as instrument panel going bananas.
Mine has air suspension, I don't know if all air suspension models do this, but mine levels out about every hour or so on all 4 wheels, killing the battery over time.
Tried lots of brands as replacement, including the more expensive ones as well as the original 580 euro lr's. All batteries only lasted for a year or so.
My solution was to mount 2 small solarpanels on the small rear windows to keep the voltage up. My curent battery (original lr) is now going into his fifth year :driver:

Hope this helped, regards
