Is the whining sound constant? It's my understanding that the compressor only runs intermittently, as needed...? Have you had any suspension fault messages display in the instrument cluster? No to hijack this thread but wondering is there a normal 'sound' the system or compressor makes when it starts to go bad? I've noticed a whining noise coming from somewhere under the hood recently.
Back to the question about compressor noise. I don't know if this is common, but I have an intermittent fault "Only Normal Height Available" which goes away with the next ignition cycle / restart. But it only happens about once every 10 starts....wondering is there a normal 'sound' the system or compressor makes when it starts to go bad?
Your whining sound could be your alternator.gsxr - appears to be intermittent as I notice it intermittently but...I've been hearing this strange noise for awhile so probably more constant than I give it credit for, I can't hear it while driving of course. No suspension faults, still goes down about 5 to 10 seconds after shutting off the motor.
