Well, put the car up on the lift and could not see anything wrong. Zero play/movement on the bearings. All bushing look ok to me. No tears on the boots of the CV joints or anything else I could see.

What next?

Should I bring it to the dealer to see if they spot anything amiss? I don't have a local independent LR indy and the dealer is 10 minutes from my house.

Should I preemptively replace CV joints? Seems kinda crazy. The car has only seen 62K miles, with minimal towing and zero off-roading.

Go for the easy stuff first…..When were the wheels last balanced

A while ago (never been rebalanced since mounted new many years ago). But I know it is not the wheels or the brakes. It behaves exactly the same in the winter tire set as it does with the all season set. Tires are mounted on different wheels. Rear brakes are practically new, fronts have like 5k and look new.

I also had the car aligned by the dealer when I did the front LCAs and bearings two years and 6k miles ago. Started noticing this issue about 10 months and 2k miles ago.

@Quijote I had the EPB issue too, but when mine happened it was a severe vibration you felt all over; once you pulled over and came to a stop and drove off again it quit. It would only do it 1 drive at highway speed after the EPB was on, then it would go away. If the EPB was not applied, it wouldn’t do it at the next drive.

Also, that was after a pad/rotor change where I didn’t do the reset procedure; once I did that it stopped for good

There can also be a worn universal joint in the driveline to the rear. It is kind of a miserable thing to replace.

I found other forums with the same vibration at highway speeds issue that pointed to the epb module. What you described is exactly how mine behaved. You may be able to see wear on the parking brake shoe/pads or smell it after if it occurs again. The epb module is expensive and not easy to install. I replaced mine but was unable to program it correctly. If I were to do it again I would just disable the epb. I never use it anyways.

It was an unexpected expensive repair. But it did last 10 years... and unlike my previous habits, I use it more frequently now. After all, so many of the automated systems use it. Not that I use anything but the cruise control often.
