Also, with the RSE, you can push different inputs to each headrest. And you can turn them off from the front seat!!

So, what's with the cheapo new fobs the 13's have? I like the heavy weight of the older ones. The new ones with they shiny side seem cheap.

Trust me, the new fob is heavy and big. It's been around for the RRS since a couple of years ago, as far as design most owners agree with you and prefer the earlier version although - my badge notwithstanding - I don't think LR4 fobs would have that Range Rover logo on the side...) I am not crazy about it - the shiny cover on the side doesn't bother me so much (it hides the emergency unlock key and I suspect it doubles as some sort of antenna/booster for the transmitter inside), but the tacky, even shinier Land Rover logo on the back does.

However, it's a quantum leap forward compared to my 2006 RRS' switchblade "brick", with a non-serviceable battery and "waterproof to 80 feet" for unknown reasons... I felt like an unemployed **** actor with that key in my front pocket, at least this one is more streamlined and rounded. And it's got a key ring you can use, I was never able to fit a regular key ring on the brick from my 2006 RRS.

Mine is the bottom one, minus the Range Rover logo. I like the 2010-2011 key fobs, as they were heavy and rugged. The 2013 isn't too bad, but I don't like the bling.

I'm going to ask my dealer later if we can get the 2012 version programed for the 2013 models. We will see.

Based on the picture of the 2013, it looks exactly the same as 2012. I believe 2012 was the first year with this 'new' key. You might have to go back to 2011.

Yes, the shiny sided ones were introduced in 2012. I have two...

The brick is actually great if you surf, as you can store it your wetsuit key pocket. I just rinse it off when I get out. Also good for putting in your backpocket when biking, which has destroyed a few apparently not too waterproof phones.

The stock RSE is sweet.

Umbertob,

Can you fully control the RSE while in drive?

My 2088 RRS allowed me to do this.

My 2010 LR4 did not.

In other words, in my current LR4 the RSE options are NOT fully available while in drive, much like the navigation.

It was a real pain the a$$ until my kids were old enough to use the remote control - and that solved the problem.

But not having the full automony from the front screen was frustrating. Apparently it was a "safety feature".

Regarding the RSE, in case you were wondering there is no 6-disc DVD changer (another misprint on LRUSA's web site...), you get a single slot CD/DVD player on the front console instead of a single CD-only player in cars without RSE. I actually prefer that design, I have RSE with the changer in my Sport and it's a PITA to replace discs, plus the DVD changer collects dust in the trunk over time and eventually stops working.

I am surprised at this.

My 2013 is on order - I think I will miss having 6 discs loaded for the kids. Now I will need to have a stash in the glove box for them :(

My 2010 LR4 has this changer in the rear seat passenger side wall.

What is in place in the back boot instead of the DVD changer? Another covered cubbby (like the rear driver side)?

Thanks for sharing this info!
