4x4 info screen re. diff locks

I have a 2015 LR4 HD Lux. I have a question re. the 4x4 info screen and the display of the centre and rear locks. Why is it divided in 3rds. Depending on driving conditions I see 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3rds of the diff locks change from green to orange why not on or off? Thanks.

Both diffs are electronically controlled and can vary the clutch position based on load, slippage, magic, etc.
