My D1 started having some problems this weekend. When going into reverse sometimes it will do nothing?? If I move the shifter around several times, it will work fine, part of the time. It works fine in drive, just not in reverse. Is this a problem with the actual transmission going bad or is there a electrical switch problem somewhere? The fluid level is fine and it looks clean. I am trying to get this narrowed down before i decide if I need to replace the transmission.... When I shift it into reverse it it is just like it is neutral, you don't feel anything engaging at all. That is why I am confused on the problem?? The Rave manual seems to point that it is the "Reverse gear interlock valve seized" Since mine is intermittant I am wondering if it could be a switch contolling this valve? If so is this something eaisly replaced??

Thanks
Martin

I would check the shifter linkage as well, but it does sound like a Transmission issue.

Martain I know that Pokrandt 927-6146 Did a great job on My Buick Transmission and he does foriegn stuff as well. You can give him a call, he might be able to do something within reason.
