Alternatives to GAP tool?

My only issue with the JLR Mongoose with SDD software is finding a dedicated Windows XP or Windows 7 OS, the last time I checked back in 2016. I wonder if they developed/support the latest Microsoft OS versions.

It's works fine (162.00) on win 10 with my Surface Pro 5, just need to use IE compatibility mode for EDGE

Looks good and interestingly it works for Jags too. What was your experience like with it assuming you tried it on your '13? I'm still waitiung for my '12 to ship.

Yep, use it with my 13 LR4. Already retrofit High Beam Assistant and ACC, next will be paddle shifters

I’m running JLR SDD in a vm on a Dell PC through a Chinese clone mongoose cable for $35. It can do everything the GAP can do. Maybe more actually. Does the gap help to diagnose issues as well? Not sure.

So far I’ve programmed a second smart key, enabled the two lock button press horn beep, played with the suspension, and reset the oil light. I’ll use it next week to calibrate the speedo for bigger tires and maybe add an inch of lift.

For the High Beam Assistant you need new interior mirror with sensor (ah42-17e678-ad for LR4 but I used mirror from RRS 09-13MY) + new plastic cover and of course change ccf, after that you get new lamp (AUTO) and menu in instrument cluster

For ACC, absolutely impossible for 09-13my without special hardware, but for 14my and up probably only acc + loom + steering wheel buttons + ccf

I'll be running Win7 in a virtual machine on Linux. The serial port can be passed through to the VM.

I just got a load date of tomorrow for my LR4. Hopefully I get it by this weekend. I'm taking it way out in BFE into the desert without a PPI lol. Risky, but I'll look it over and I'm not waiting any longer than I have to. If it doesn't sound like it is going to explode and it has cold air conditioning that is all the assurance I need .

I know there are self leveling tools as well, but would be cool to do all this from term with some sort of adapter and usb. Have chat gpt draft sample scripts? Then build a gui around it? For nerds.

I had it running in a VM, but then months later I bought a new machine, transferred the VM and forgot to disable the NIC before booting the VM so then the software stopped working. I need to do it over again, but haven't had the time or need.
